Flight Information

There are many ways to fly here!

The Mumbai International Airport is the closest to Nasik.  There is actually an airport in Nasik, too (Nashik's Ozar Airport), if anyone wants to fly directly into Nasik.  I'm sure you'll have to transfer at Mumbai though.

Now, some of you want flight recommendations or guidance!  Well it's already been said, but SINGAPORE AIRLINES IS HANDS DOWN THE GREATEST AIRLINE IN THE WORLD.

Now that this has been made abundantly clear, here are some links that may be of use.  And a few tips.  Maybe.




  • Website:  http://www.singaporeairlines.com/
  • Rates:  There's a sale right now, tickets are about $1300 (normally about $1600).  
  • Frequent Flier Programs: Part of Star Alliance which means United and many other airlines participate - you can credit your miles toward the program of your choice.  Please note:  If you get the Super Saver Economy ticket you DON'T get miles.  Last time i checked (6/22), though, the "one step up" ticket was only fifty dollars more and it earns miles.  Normally it's about two hundred more to earn the miles.
Let's just make a quick list of why this airline is better:
  • Foot rests on every seat
  • Hot towels (real cloth, not paper) before takeoff
  • Free wine
  • Good food.  
  • Snack Basket!
  • Clean Bathrooms!
  • Night pouch with socks and toothbrush
  • 10" individual TV screens with hundreds of TV shows and about 150 movies to watch
  • Young, cute, energetic, friendly and fresh-faced air hostesses.  (That is the exact opposite of wrinkly, angry, lazy, rude, lifetime smoking air hostesses that couldn't care less about bringing you wine that's six dollars a glass while you try to watch the 10" shared TV monitor fifteen feet away showing you a VHS copy of "The Proposal".)

And at the end of your very long first leg, you end up guess where?  Singapore Airport!  The greatest airport in the world!  Where else can you watch a movie, get a haircut, use the internet, get a foot massage, go
shopping, and eat sushi?
